Current strategy for climate changes initiative and technology

One of the biggest challenges that humans seek to find a solution today, is climate change. Climate change persists as perhaps the most pressing problems of the 21st century, that scientists, climatologists, governments across the globe, and others, aim to find feasible resolutions to. The only way that this can be done is through continued and strenuous dialogue taking place between all the parties involved. This dialogue is essential to the deliberation of what possibilities there are currently, to overcome the challenges that the agents responsible for climate change are posing, and what possible alternatives there are to all of these things. In order to find effective solutions to these agents causing climate change, it is imperative that all scientists, industry professionals, climatologists, and researchers (who are engaged in programs aimed at finding solutions to all of these issues) gather together and discuss –

• all possibilities to mitigate the effects of climate change,
• findings from the latest climatology research findings,
• most promising technological developments, and plenty more

In this regard, climate change conferences seem to be the most important of all initiatives in the global fight against climate change. These conferences provide a common platform for all top individuals across academia to meet one another and converge together to exchange ideas and learn from one another.

Numerous Causes and Drastic Effects of Climate Change On the Earth

Ever since the dawn of the industrial age, when humanity began using fossil fuels on a large scale, scientists have been predicting and stating that the continued use of these fossil fuels will eventually prove to have a detrimental effect on the earth’s atmosphere.

One cannot possibly overlook the sheer depth of these consequences or even think about them as being of no significance. This is because doing so can result in the condition of the earth being completely overlooked and no action being taken against industries that are completely reliant on the use of fossil fuels for their –

• survival,
• growth, and
• economic profit-making.

Another one of the causes of climate change is ‘Greenhouse Gases‘, such as CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons) that are commonly released by refrigerators, air conditioners, and other gadgets. These CFCs and other greenhouse gases cause the earth to experience what is commonly referred to as the ‘Greenhouse Effect’, wherein the UV rays, as well as other powerful rays emitted from the sun, are trapped by these greenhouse gases, resulting in the overheating of the earth’s surface.

This overheating of the earth’s surface eventually leads to –

• the melting of the arctic ice caps,
• the increase in ocean levels,
• erratic weather patterns (excessive rainfalls, droughts, hurricanes, etc),
• hotter climate the world over, and plenty more.

Technology & Its Impact On Climate Change

While the use of data analysis, big data, and data science, in general, has already been highlighted as having a positive impact on the fight against climate change, in general, the proliferation of technology has resulted in negative effects. In fact, the proliferation of technology, which has caused every household and every person on the earth to own at least one desktop, laptop, mobile phone, and other appliances, has proved to be of negative consequence to the reversing of climate change. With the widespread use of all these gadgets, the internet, and technology in general, the –

• wastage of energy,
• non-renewable natural resources, and
• pollution because of the plastics used in these devices,
• have only amplified the effects of climate change on the earth.

Therefore, one should overlook the fact that technology although assistive to a certain degree in the fight against climate change, is, for the most part, detrimental to it.
